Joys of Spring!

Plant-dyed Cheviot wool, Hebridean Woolshed, Isle of South UistJonathan: It’s now March, and at last, as the days lengthen and brighten, we’re feeling the joys of spring. There may not yet be even the earliest bulbs and spring flowers to brighten the garden, but in the Hebridean Woolshed’s garden shop, there’s an abundance of colour from plants, colour that we extracted from plants and fixed to wools during the winter. This is a pile of 25g skeins of plant-dyed Cheviot wool I’m supposed to be taking up to the shop for Denise to put on display – but she’ll have to wait a few minutes whilst I take a photo or two.
