Machair in Merino

Machair in Merino, Ladies’ Shetland Lacework Scarf

Shetland Lacework Scarf in Merino wool, handspun and handknitted by Denise Bridge, Hebridean Woolshed, Isle of South UistWe sold our first scarf in this lacework pattern back in 2005 when the first Hebridean Woolshed shed was still new. Since then, we’ve lost count of the number – and lost track of the combinations of yarn and colour.  What they’ve all had in common is that they’ve been hand-spun and hand-knitted by Denise, are irresistably soft to handle – and have never stayed long on display! Shown here, fresh off the knitting needles, is in pure new Merino wool, blended and spun by Denise to her Uist Landscapes – Machair colour theme.

Options

Due to the random colouring and nature of hand craftwork, this scarf is unique.

Similar scarves are made on an ongoing basis, most being made with merino wool to the current Uist Landscape colours. These are available for the same price.  Occasionally similar Shetland lacework scarves are made with other fibres and colours, and these are priced individually.
